Touted as the ‘new Murraya’, Summerscent is rapidly being adopted throughout South East Queensland. It’s vigorous growth and natural density make it superior to Murraya and other screening options. It can achieve the same blockout effect with far less pruning. It is resistant to most pests and diseases, and it even has fragrant flowers for many months of the year.
Prune lightly to encourage dense growth. Growth is not fine enough to form topiaries, but can still be clipped with sheers to form a basic hedge. Does best in rich, well-drained soil. Won’t tolerate waterlogged soils. Use quality fertilizer such as Troforte or Organic Link with regularity to maintain strong, clean growth.
