Lillypilly Big Red foliage

Lillypilly ‘Big Red’

Syzigium australe ‘Big Red’

Synonyms: Scrub Cherry.

Big Red is a Lillypilly variety developed here in Queensland. It is well known for its rapid growth rate and dense habit. Most noteworthy however, is the striking red new growth, easily one of the reddest foliage plants on the market. Big Red benefits from regular pruning which will help it maintain a thick, “total blockout” hedge. Also suitable for topiary.

Use quality fertilizer such as Troforte or Organic Link throughout the year to ensure clean and vigorous growth.
